Country-specific bilateral projects are full scholarships or partial scholarships provided in accordance with educational cooperation and exchange agreements or consensus reached between China and relevant governments, institutions, schools, and international organizations.

1.Funding category, duration, major and language of instruction

2.Scholarship content

03.Application path and time

Applicants should apply to the international student dispatch department of their home country (usually the Education and Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy or Consulate abroad) within the specified time. The application time is generally from early January to April . For the specific application time and acceptance agency number information, please send to your home country. Department inquiries.

4.Application conditions

1. Non-Chinese citizens, in good health;

2. Educational background and age requirements:

●Applicants who come to China to study undergraduate majors must have a high school diploma, excellent grades, and be under the age of 25;

●Applicants who come to China to study for a master's degree must have a bachelor's degree and be under the age of 35;

●Applicants who come to China to study for a doctoral degree must have a master's degree and be under 40 years old;

●As a general scholar who comes to China to study, he must have a high school diploma or above, and he must be under 45 years old;

●Senior advanced students who come to China to study must have a master's degree or above or associate professor or above, and be under 50 years old.

5.Application process

2.Log in to the "Online Application System of China Scholarship Council for Studying in China"

(Log in http://www.csc.edu.cn/laihua or http://www.campuschina.org and click on the "Online Registration Student Entrance" icon to enter), fill in and submit the application information online, and print out the "Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form". Please choose Jilin University as your first choice college ; the operating instructions of the "China Scholarship Council Online Application System for Studying in China" and the "Accepting Agency Number" can be consulted and obtained from the overseas student dispatching department of your country;

3.Submit materials within the specified time

Submit the application materials to the international student dispatch department of your home country within the specified time.

6.Application materials

1."Chinese Government Scholarship Application Form"

2.Notarized highest education certificate

Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese or English translations;

If the applicant is a student at school, he/she must also submit the expected graduation certificate issued by the school where he/she is studying, and submit the graduation certificate or degree certificate before June 30, 2021;

3.Transcript

4.Study or research plan in China

No less than 200 words for undergraduate students, no less than 500 words for advanced students,

No less than 800 words for graduate students, written in Chinese or English;

5.Letter of recommendation

Two letters, issued by the professor or associate professor, written in Chinese or English, signed by the issuer, and must indicate the issuer’s email address and telephone number;

6.Relevant legal documents

Applicants under the age of 18 must submit relevant legal documents of their legal guardian in China;

7."Foreigner Physical Examination Form"

A copy of the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" must be submitted (the original is kept by yourself. This form is uniformly printed by the Chinese Health and Quarantine Department and can be downloaded from the website

8.HSK Transcript

If you have obtained the HSK score report, please attach it to the application materials;

The HSK score report is valid for 2 years;

9.Proof of English Proficiency

If applying for English-taught majors, applicants whose native language is not English must submit proof of English proficiency;

Applicants who are unable to provide a standardized English test certificate, applicants who used English in the previous stage must provide relevant certificates;

10.Certificate of Good Conduct

Please submit a certificate of no criminal record within the past 6 months;

11.Pre-admission notice

If you have already received the pre-admission notice issued by the host institution of the Chinese Government Scholarship student, please attach it to the application materials.

7.Admission and notification

The China Scholarship Council reviews whether scholarship applicants meet the application requirements

Applicants who do not meet the requirements or application materials that do not meet the requirements will not be accepted;

The approved application materials are forwarded to the relevant school for admission

The China Scholarship Council reserves the right to make appropriate adjustments to the applicant’s chosen school, major, funding category, scholarship period, etc., based on the scholarship funding requirements of various countries, the receiving capacity of the scholarship institution, the professional academic system requirements and the applicant’s conditions, etc. The admission result is determined by the school;

The school may suggest that students change their majors based on the actual conditions such as the application materials. At that time, they will contact the students through the email address filled in by the student application. Please pay close attention to the email;

Scholarship recipients can study in China

Applicants who have been admitted by the scholarship institution shall be approved by the China Scholarship Council and pass the review and physical examination after arriving at the school to be eligible for the Chinese government scholarship;

Each scholarship recipient can only receive funding from one Chinese government scholarship program;

The admission documents are forwarded to the students themselves

The China Scholarship Council will send the "Admission List", "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form for Studying in China" (JW201 Form) to the Chinese embassy (or consulate-general) in the host country and forward it to the international student dispatching department or The student himself

Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change their study information

Scholarship recipients are not allowed to change the admission institution, major of study, and study period stated in the "Admission Notice" after coming to China;

Be sure to come to China to study according to the admission deadline

Except for external force majeure, scholarship qualifications will not be reserved for those who cannot study in China within the time limit for admission.
