Lin-gang Special Area: A pioneer in institutional innovation

 Lin-gang Special Area was established on August 20th, 2019. It is an extension of the China(Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, and serves for China's reform and opening-up. Located on the East China Sea, it leads the country's efforts to provide open investment, trade, capital, transportation and employment on its land and surrounding waters.

Currently enrolled international students are allowed to start a business in Lin-gang Special Area in their spare time while study at the university at the same time. Students will have an entrepreneurship visa stamp added on the study visa, which means they can have business activities here.

Meanwhile, international students are allowed to seek an internship related to their major in the companies located in this area.

Upon graduation, outstanding international graduates from Shanghai Ocean University with a bachelor degree or above are allowed to find a job and work here. If the company is located in Lin-gang Special Area, the Lin-gang Special Area Administration Bureau will have a maximum 10 bonus credits added to your existing scores in assisting for the application of working visa.

 Lingang area of the Shanghai pilot free trade zone should carry out all-round high-level opening-up with greater depth, broader range, and more strength. An Important Base for Innovation with Collaboration from International Talents, Important Hub for Coordinating Onshore and Offshore Business, Important Springboard for Companies Going Global, Important Channel Connecting Domestic and International Markets and Resources, Important Test Field for Participating in International Economic Governance. In the innovation of Systems and mechanisms, strengthening institutions, and boosting the quality of Chinese economy.

 Accelerate the creation of a special economic functional zone which holds a stronger sway and enjoys a more considerable competitive advantage on the international market. Promote the construction of a new modern city which is inclusive and innovation-driven, and features smart ecology, industry-city integration, livability and good working conditions.
