       My name is USHINDI LUKOMBOLA SUZETTE and I’m from Democratic Republic of Congo. I’m a senior majoring in Electrical Engineering and Automation at Zhejiang University of Technology. 

          In 2017, I got really excited to continue my higher education in a different country kilometer away from home and start a new life.  It was a new experience being away from parents, a place where you are responsible of yourself, making your own decisions. My first day of class, I had Chinese and going to class I got lost because there were a lot of buildings which looked alike, it was fun learning a new language in which I didn’t know a thing. For my other classes, at first it was a bit hard but after sometimes it went smooth. I tried my best to be a good student and I even got three scholarships which are:

In 2018.10, I won the third price of academic award, ZJUT scholarship.

In 2019.10, I won the first price of academic award, Zhejiang Provincial scholarship (class B) and the art&sports scholarship.

In 2020.10, I won the first price of academic award, Zhejiang Provincial scholarship (class B).

    In the same year, I made a lots of friends and improved my English and even learnt one language from Zimbabwe. From 2018.04 till 2019.12, I was volunteer(dancing) in cartoon festival, kid’s festival (dance competition), school competitions, culture festival, yearly festival of all the school in Hangzhou, I think I danced in all the festivals I didn’t miss any in that period. It was really fun, made some Chinese friends and mate students from other schools.

I learnt Wushu(kungfu) I was the best in my class because it was like dancing without music, I even learnt a new sport basketball didn’t know that short people could play and I was quite bad at it. Now I’m really comfortable living in China(Hangzhou). This experience made me see the world in a different angle, and thought me that people are responsible for their actions, if you want to succeed in life make good decision and choose your friends carefully, “You are not in competition with anyone, be the best version of yourself.”
