                Logistics Management

          Logistics Management major focuses on modern logistics and supply chain management, e-commerce and smart commerce and other characteristic research directions. It cultivates  international, engineering, and commercial logistics talents with innovative spirit, international vision, and solid modern logistics management theoretical knowledge and methods, familiar with the basic operations of social logistics and enterprise logistics systems, able to conduct logistics strategic planning, logistics business model and logistics information system analysis and design, and be able to plan and manage the whole process of logistics operation in manufacturing and processing enterprises, commercial enterprises, logistics enterprises, government agencies, etc.

        Logistics is a basic and strategic industry that supports the development of a country's economy and society. The logistics industry plays an important role in the field of commodity circulation. The size of a country's logistics industry is not only a direct result of the scale of economic development, but also an important manifestation of the level of economic development and the degree of marketization. The emergence of various specialized logistics companies and their rapid development trends show that, as a new specialized division of labor, specialized logistics services have developed into a new industry sector and an important component of a country's economy.

     This major has a faculty with young and middle-aged teachers as the main body and integrated scientific research and teaching, including 4 professors and 6 associate professors. 92.3% of the teachers have doctoral degrees, and all teachers have overseas study or visit experience. In 2018, the Department of Logistics Management was rated as a five-star teaching organization in Zhejiang Gongshang University due to its excellent teachers and teaching performance.

      Excellent academic research is the basis of teaching. In terms of academic research, the teacher’s research direction is also carried out around the logistics supply chain. Our professional teachers undertake the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the National Social Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education’s humanities and social sciences projects and more than 30 provincial and ministerial projects;

     The teachers have published more than 40 high-level academic papers in well-known journals such as EJOR, OMEGA, IJPE, "System Engineering Theory and Practice", and undertook more than 30 research projects commissioned by enterprises.           The logistics management professional training plan carefully revised by teachers of logistics management over many years sets different training routes for students from logistics management ability, logistics engineering ability, economic management ability and data analysis ability.
           The logistics management major focuses on building a collaborative education system based on the co-op architecture, making full use of practical teaching, extracurricular practical activities and subject competition activities to improve students' innovation and entrepreneurship capabilities. A number of professional support platforms with distinctive features and first-class conditions have been established. The domestic first-class modern logistics laboratory has been built, and professional laboratories and training bases have been jointly established with many domestic industry leaders.

                     

   
      At the same time, the logistics management profession and the world’s top 500 company Bosch Power Tools China Co., Ltd. jointly established a school-level supply chain management innovation practice base (which has been upgraded to a provincial-level practice base); and established a logistics center in cooperation with Best Logistics Technology (China) Co., Ltd. Data analysis practice base; cooperated with Hangzhou SF Logistics Co., Ltd. to establish an express logistics practice base; cooperated with Hangzhou Airport Economic Zone Management Committee to establish a cross-border e-commerce logistics practice base; cooperated with Hangzhou KFC (Yamson Logistics) to establish a logistics supply chain practice Base. At the end of 2020, it has signed a contract to build a benchmark school of SF & Zhejiang Gongshang University.

The Logistics Management major began to recruit students in 2004, and more than 1,000 outstanding students with innovative and entrepreneurial capabilities have been trained for 13 sessions. In 2016, it began to recruit international students. It was the first university in Zhejiang province to offer Logistics Management major taught in English and recruit international students. Since 2019, it has established the "Silk Road School" with the University of Sharjah in the UAE as ZJSU's first batch of cooperative majors and began to recruit UAE students.
