International Preparatory Education Center of XiDian University is located in Xi'an, Shaanxi Province, with an excellent geographical location and beautiful environment. It is close to the majestic Qinling Mountains and enjoys a unique historical and cultural environment.

       International Preparatory Education Centre provides three main programs:

1. Language Learning Program

This program is to provide high quality, accurate and interesting Chinese courses for overseas students who are interested in Chinese language and Chinese culture.

1. Preparatory EducationProgram

This program provides the systematic study of Chinese language (≥1 year) to international students who will take Chinese academic education (undergraduate + postgraduate + PHD). The main objective of the course is to develop students' practical Chinese language skills and remove the language barrier to academic education.

• Study Tour Program

In addition to preparatory and language education, we also offer a wide variety of study tour programs, including exchange study, short-term language study and culture tour programs in Xi'an. Up to now, we have received students from the United States, Germany, France, Korea, Mexico, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Sudan and other countries, and our courses include language teaching, cultural experience, sightseeing and so on. The combination of theory and practice, and the experience of history and modernity, reflect the diversified characteristics of the combination of knowledge and entertainment. The program has received high praise from students over the years.

       We have a strong and stable teaching team. All classes are taught and supervised by experienced teachers, who are master's degree holders or professional teachers with the CTCSOL（Certificate for Teachers of Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages）

Different courses for different programs:

1. Language Learning Program

Program Target: Language students who want to improve their Chinese language skills and learn about Chinese culture.

A．Chinese Language Courses

1. Chinese level ≤ HSK4, 80class hours (20 classes* 4 weeks).

(All courses are 4 weeks or more, the table below is an example of 4 weeks only)

      We now offer Comprehensive Chinese, Chinese Speaking, Chinese Listening, Chinese Reading etc., to improve students' Chinese expression ability in all aspects.

           2. Chinese level ≥HSK4, 80class hours (20 classes * 4 weeks).

(All courses are 4 weeks or more, the table below is an example of 4 weeks only)

The current courses include Chinese Intensive Reading, Advanced Chinese Listening and Speaking, Chinese Writing, Business Chinese and other courses to further enhance the ability of using Chinese in practice.

           2.Cultural Experience Courses (4 weeks and more)

At present, the cultural experience courses include Chinese Calligraphy, Paper-cut, Tai Chi, Beijing Opera and Mask Painting, Chinese Painting, Seal Carving, Shadow Play, Brief Introduction of TCM, Chinese Food, Traditional Chinese Wedding, Chinese Knots, Chinese Festival, Chinese Movie Appreciation etc.

           3. Preparatory EducationProgram 

Program Target: Preparatory students who want to enter Chinese universities for their academic education (1 year or more)

720 class hours/year (20 classes * 36 weeks)

         In order to assist students with entering into Chinese universities smoothly, depending on the different majors that students will study, other courses are available, eg. Chinese for Mathematics, Mathematics, Chinese for Physics, Physics, Chinese for Economics and Business, Economics and Business, Research Methodology, and Chinese for Liberal Arts. 

              4.Study Tour Program

Program Target: All individuals or groups interested in culture, language and travel to China.

Program Description: Study tour programs include exchange programs, short-term language programs and other programs. The duration of the program is usually 7 days or more, and the program can be customized according to the student's needs. We provide professional assistants, language translators. If there are any visiting, we will work with a professional travel agency to ensure the program runs smoothly.

       Project Introduction: Known as "Chang'an" in ancient times, Xi'an has a long history and plenty of cultural heritage. It was once the capital of 13 dynasties in Chinese history, has a rich cultural sites of the Qin, Han and Tang Dynasties. There are many historical sites, including the Terracotta Warriors & Horses, which is known as the "eighth wonder of the world", the Wild Goose Pagoda and the ancient city walls which has more than a thousand years history, the Banpo Museum and the Lantian Ape Museum, which reflect the prehistoric era of mankind.

     Xi'an, once the origin of the Silk Road, is now the core city of western China and the important base of research, education and industry. Many of China's top universities and advanced enterprises have taken root and flourished in the city. Xi'an, in the midst of modernization and development, has developed a vigorous vitality.

     Xi'an study tour program is closely linked to the theme of "travel + learning". Students can experience the historical and cultural atmosphere of the ancient city, at the same time, learn the relevant Chinese expressions, and have a deeper understanding of the long history of the ancient Chang'an.

  The unique and effective form of "tour + learning" makes the thousand years of history instantly vivid and dynamic. It not only makes the quiet ancient architectural sites lively, but also is a vivid and modern business card of the ancient Chang'an.
